Steps To Do Pitru Paksha Puja At Home:-

Vidhi of Pitra Puja:-

1. A wooden stool covered with a clean white cloth should be kept in the southern corner. Distribute some barley and sesame (black) seeds on the cloth. 
2. The image frame of your forefather should be placed on the stool. If you don't have an image of them because they passed away several hundred years ago then use Kusha Grass. It is said that there are particles of Vishnu in this grass.
3. After that, you need to summon the soul of the deceased for whom this ritual is held in an invitation manner. A priest will guide you better on what to say.
4. Then, a bronze or copper vessel filled with holy water should be taken. This should be mixed with cow milk and some other ingredients like barley, sesame seeds, rice grains should be added to the mixture. This vessel should be kept before the image.

• Cook some rice. After the rice is cooked add some milk, holy water, and honey to it. Take some of this rice mixture and make a rice ball. Place this on a banana leaf and put it before the image.
